OUR STORY

Since being a child, I was always involved on boating because my father loved fishing. The first boat we had was aluminum made with 12 feet in length and with a portable 2 strokes 15 HP outboard. It was so light that my father did not use a trailer to transport it, he just put a rack on the roof of his Ford Falcon Futura 1963 and carried the hull tied with ropes there while the outboard was put in the car’s trunk.

During the passing years, my father was buying boats every time bigger than the last one until he reached to afford a 42 Ft yacht which was the final one but bigger boats mean more money spent on maintenance because a Yacht has too many equipment that can fail, it needs more insurance cost, mooring /docking rent etc. After owning a big boat my father usually said: “The boat I enjoy most was that small 12 ft. aluminum boat with portable outboard”

My father’s words made me think of a small boat but with the features of a big one, therefore I start searching for it in the boat market but I did not find it. All I found were simple inflatable dinghies, aluminum and fiberglass small boats in which you could see all the cables, battery and gasoline tank making them very ugly and uncomfortable.

So, I decide to design a boat for myself and find the way how to manufacture it and with the help of an Italian friend who is naval architect and finally we designed the boat. Once the drawings were ready, I needed the fiberglass mold and because I did not want to deal with fiberglass, catalyzers and resins because working with these materials means pollution and environmental problems, therefore I found A Chinese boat manufacturer that made me the mold and the first hull prototype which was imported to USA and we installed all accessories such as electrical and all the stainless steel hardware it required.

A new boat was born and because it was so small, I called it “SARDINE” and the company that was going to manufacture them also was born as “SARDINE MARINE”. The boat became in the smallest center console boat with a console made of one-piece fusion with the hull’s deck, without any type of attaching screws or fasteners to get loose and rattle with sea movement.

Now, that Sardine boats have entered the USA market, these boats turn heads and everyone loves them because if you do not put something aside as reference it appears as a big boat. Therefore, we can conclude and say that a Sardine Marine Boat is:

“The Smallest Big Boat”
